Clover Trails

9/3/17
The clover trail project has begun on The Slice.  I did some pre-work getting the trails leveled and blasted open.  They were old logging trails that were severely rutted up.  Not ready to call them "fixed" at this point, but they are passable, and it's time to get some clover going.

There must have been an uprooted tree at the entrance to Slice North.  There was a big pile next to a hole.  Got it leveled back out.  Hopefully this helps the plot drain better, and serves as a nice start to the clover trail.
Instead of digging up my trails to level the ruts, I decided to dig a water hole nearby to source some fill.

One good rain filled it right up.  That's about 18" deep.

Last step was to blast the brush back off the trail with the loader.  I got aggressive.

Finally got to seeding this.  It is a 4 way clover blend:

15 lbs white ladino
2 lbs medium red clover
2 lbs berseem clover
2 lbs crimson clover
This is seeded and limed, ran out of barley nurse seed
