Take Two: Plot Demo Weekend
Didn't post anything since June. June was a bad month. Blew lots of time and money trying to demo the plots before they were ready. It took a while to get over that and get ready to try again. Well I'm glad to report I tried again last weekend and it went great. Here's a short list of what all got done.
Slice North got cleared, leveled, fertilized, and planted.
Slice South got cleared, leveled, fertilized and planted.
Trails got cleaned up. I pushed the tag alder brush back far enough, that shit shouldn't bother me for a few years now.
Before
After
Also made my trails passable for the truck. Didn't realize how big a deal this was until I was done. It then dawned on me that I could drive the truck all the way back to the south plot. That is going to accelerate the pace at which I can get stuff done.
I got the dirt to fill in those ruts from a water hole I dug nearby. It worked fairly well, but I'll have to keep working on this because the soft spots will probably keep rutting, hopefully just not as bad as before.
I was out on the property the whole time, and the deer were in there inspecting one hour after I drove out of there. I could swear the boss doe just follows me around to see what I'm doing.
You should just plant some corn and have a few cars drive by, the deer seem to love that shit
